Sponars Chalet Perisher
We are delighted to introduce our new partner in New South Wales – Sponars Chalet located in Perisher, the largest snow resort operation in the Southern Hemisphere.
Sponars dates back to 1909 and is steeped in local history being part of the original skiing development of the area. This is a great place to base yourself to enjoy the beauty of the Kosciuszko National Park where the season extends year round and a offers lot more than just skiing.
Only 10 minutes from the ski slope by complimentary ski-shuttle from the Chalet – you don’t need to spend time in traffic from Jindabyne or juggle your gear on the Skitube. Simply park your car at the chalet and the Sponars team will get to the slopes easily and quickly. They even have ski hire on site so you don’t need to lug it all from home!
Albeit this is a great base to ski from, there is so much more that Sponars offer in the National Park area:
Mountain Biking and eBiking
Hiking – from picturesque stroll to climbing Mount Kosciuszko
Road Cycling – there are 3 great rides ranging from 34km to 85km in length
Snow Sports – as well as skiing there is guided Snow-Shoe adventures and Cross-country skiing
Water Sports – sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water-skiing – there are 3 alpine lakes around the Chalet!
And to refresh you after all this activity, Sponars include a full breakfast and 3-course dinner every day as well as offer a fully stocked bar and regular evening live music and games room. Plus you can relax those muscles in a heated indoor swimming pool!

Get active and ignore the extra chocolate with some great activities that make the most of the beauty of the National Park (or watch others do it!)
Friday – Get involved in the Lunacy Full Moon Mount Kosi Bike Ride at night (with Schnapps at the top!)
Saturday – Take part in the Perisher to Charlotte Pass Fun Run and the annual Duck Race down Perisher Creek!
Sunday – Have a morning swim in Rainbow Lake and join the Paddle Board Adventure
